Ferrari Purosangue: Grand Tour Of New Zealand Concludes

21 December 2023

Five Ferrari Purosangues recently undertook an unforgettable 3000-kilometer journey across the diverse landscapes of New Zealand. This expedition is the latest installment in Ferrari's three-decade tradition of Grand Tours, where the Prancing Horse's vehicles conquer challenging and breathtaking roads worldwide. The Purosangue demonstrated its distinctive style, performance, and adaptability during a demanding route from Auckland to Milford Sound.

Conducted between late November and early December, the Ferrari New Zealand Grand Tour successfully concluded its exploration of the spectacular Southern Hemisphere islands. Each of the five Ferrari Purosangues covered 3000 kilometers over three weeks, traversing New Zealand's extraordinary natural scenery, scenic mountain roads, and culturally rich cities.

Chosen for its groundbreaking design, the Purosangue sets a new standard in the automotive industry by reimagining the modern, high-riding, four-door GT car. With a powerful 725 horsepower, mid-front-mounted V12 engine, it seamlessly blends driving thrills, comfort, and refinement in its spacious and luxurious four-seat interior. The world-first active suspension system and uncompromising transaxle layout contribute to its sports car handling.

The tour provided 50 international journalists with a firsthand experience of the Purosangue's capabilities as they took turns driving on different legs of a route that traversed both islands. Departing from Auckland, the group visited Waihi Beach, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Hastings, and Wellington on the North Island, exploring diverse landscapes, cultural sites, and challenging roads.

After a ferry transport to the South Island, the tour continued through Blenheim, Marlborough, Kaikoura, Christchurch, the Southern Alps, Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, and Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. The journey concluded at Milford Sound, a remote fjord in the southwest, where nature reigns supreme and diverse wildlife, including seals and penguins, abound. This adventure, following Ferrari's Grand Tour tradition since 1997, showcased the brand's cars' versatility, reliability, and ability to deliver unparalleled driving thrills in every corner of the globe.
